Creative District

We’re thrilled to announce that The Bricks District in Downtown Kearney has been officially certified as Kearney’s very first Nebraska Creative District, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Kearney Cultural Partners! 

This Creative District designation highlights our commitment to fostering a vibrant arts and cultural scene. As part of this initiative, we’re excited to introduce several projects that will enhance the downtown experience. One of our key goals is the development of an Art Alleyways Project. This project envisions transforming alleyways into dynamic spaces featuring pop-up galleries, live music, and other cultural activities. Imagine walking through our downtown and being greeted by colorful murals, unique installations, and the sound of local artists bringing their talents to life.

In addition to the Art Alleyways Project, we’re working to bring even more murals to the district, each telling a story and adding to the character of Downtown Kearney. These public art installations not only beautify our community but also celebrate the creativity and diversity of the people who call it home.

We’re also focused on branding and marketing The Bricks District to make Downtown Kearney a destination for residents and visitors alike. By highlighting the unique blend of arts, culture, and commerce in our area, we aim to foster a sense of pride and attract even more creative talent to our district.

While we’re just getting started, we’re hopeful that additional grant funding will allow us to pursue larger capital projects to further enhance the district. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting developments—we can’t wait to share more news with you as it happens!
