In April of 1915 Kearney’s City Council passed an ordinance to pave Central Avenue with Brick. They fired up the Kiln and paved the street that same year. Many locally owned businesses such as George’s Market, Johnson Grocery, C.B.& Ed Finch Department Store and many others laid the foundation for what is now known as “The Bricks”. Fast forward to 2021. “The Bricks” has grown, developing into one of Nebraska’s best downtown areas. Now it’s our turn to fire up the Kiln and bring Kearney a new watering hole, BRIX. Brix will feature signature drinks such as THE KILN, 1915 and The Brick to show our appreciation for those who came before us. Add in a wide range of cocktails, beer and our shot board, and Brix will soon become a regular destination on your trips to “The Bricks”. We look forward to seeing you soon at BRIX!
